Storm Signal Warning

Know the storm signals and know what to do. Be always ready! Public Storm Warning Signal # 1 - There is a tropical cyclone in the area. - The wind is between 30-60 kph in atleast 36 hours or there is intermittent rain in 36 hours. - Twigs and branches of small trees maybe broken. - Classes in pre-school and kindergarten are automatically suspended in areas under Storm Signal No. 1. The Pork Barrel in the Philippines

The most talked topic in the Philippines nowadays is on the Pork Barrel issue.  Everywhere from television to the internet, even to the ordinary Juan dela Cruz talks about Janet Napoles and Pork Barrel. What is Pork Barrel? Definition from Wiki: Pork barrel is the appropriation of government spending for localized projects secured solely or primarily to bring money to a representative's district. In the Philippines it is called PDAF or Priority Development Assistance Funds. Each senator receives P 200-million while a congressman receives P 70-million annually. The PDAF issue becomes a hot topic when a whistleblower named Benhur Luy exposed the 10 billion scam and points out Janet Lim Napoles as the mastermind.  Napoles would creates a non existent NGO's and that's where some government officials puts their PDAF. Welcome to our new Pope: Pope Francis

The new pope (Pope Francis) Finally on March 13 around 19:00 CET white smoke was released from the Sistine Chapel and it's a sign that the Vatican has elected a new pope. The St. Peter's Square in Rome was crowded by thousands of supporters.  Bells rang over the place and the new pope was then revealed. The new pope is Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.  He is the first Latin American pope and the first Jesuit leader of the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is known for his opposition on abortion, eauthanasia and contraception.  He is also against same sex marriage.  He also fight against poverty. Congratulations to our new pope! We hope that you will lead us to our journey of our faith!

Good news for us Filipinos, we are now called as "rising tiger of Asia".  This is given to us by the World Bank on February 5, 2013 during the Philippine Development Forum at the Marco Polo Hotel.   According to them the propaganda of President Noynoy Aquino against corruption help the stability of our economy.  The propaganda for good governance convinced many investors to invest in our country. “The continued presence of the country’s development partners is a sign of confidence. The Philippines Development Forum represents the very best of the ideals behind public-private partnerships,” President Noynoy said. As of now we can see many BPO's and call centers in the different parts of our country.  There are also many building and establishments rising.  We hope this growth and our positive economy will continue not just after President Noynoy's end of term but it will be for a long term.
