The Pork Barrel in the Philippines

The most talked topic in the Philippines nowadays is on the Pork Barrel issue. Everywhere from television to the internet, even to the ordinary Juan dela Cruz talks about Janet Napoles and Pork Barrel.

What is Pork Barrel?
Definition from Wiki: Pork barrel is the appropriation of government spending for localized projects secured solely or primarily to bring money to a representative's district. In the Philippines it is called PDAF or Priority Development Assistance Funds. Each senator receives P 200-million while a congressman receives P 70-million annually.

The PDAF issue becomes a hot topic when a whistleblower named Benhur Luy exposed the 10 billion scam and points out Janet Lim Napoles as the mastermind. Napoles would creates a non existent NGO's and that's where some government officials puts their PDAF.

Current senators involved in Napoles Pork Barrel Scams are senators Bong Revilla, Jinngoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, Bongbong Marcos and Honasan.

Janet Napoles already surrenders to President Noynoy Aquino and she is being detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

As a citizen to this country and one of the taxpayers I hope the government can made an investigation and would put these corrupt government officials behind bars. The people of the Philippines are asking for justice! We work hard for our families so we can survived amidst the rising prices of goods. We paid for our taxes duly! We want change, we want justice!

Jessica Sanchez will sing the American national anthem in Pacquiao-Bradley fight

This coming June 9, 2012 (June 10 in Philippines) the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley will happen in Las Vegas. Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) and Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs) are both boxing superstars in their own right. Bradley, the undefeated American World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion, will be challenging Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion. And during the fight the famous singer Jessica Sanchez, who is the first runner up in American Idol this season will be singing the United States National anthem. I know everyone is excited for this day, especially the Filipinos, expect a lesser crime, lesser traffic during this day. We expect an exciting fight and Manny we hope you to win again! Super Big Crocodile in the Philippines

This is the image of the giant crocodile that was captured last Saturday in Bunawan township, Agusan del Sur Province. It was estimated to be 21-foot (6.4-meter) long and 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms). The crocodile killed a water buffalo last month and was suspected of having attacked a fisherman who were missing last July. It was captured by the villagers by setting a trap and about 100 people had to pull the crocodile from the creek to the clearing where it is lifted by a truck. It will be place into an ecotourism park in the southern Philippine town.
