Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. Wednesday weather bulletin that Ofel was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
It said Ofel is expected to make a landfall in Siargao, in the vicinity of Surigao within the day.
Pagasa said Ofel is expected to be at 60 km northwest of Maasin, vicinity of Roxas City by Thursday morning; at 180 km West of Nasugbu, Batangas by Friday morning; and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning.
Pagasa warned residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal (PSWS) #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides likewise those living in coastal areas under signal #2 are alerted of possible storm surges.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 20 mm per hour (moderate - intense) within the 500 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern Seaboards of Southern Luzon, seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao due to the combined effect of theTropical Storm "Ofel" and the Northeast Monsoon.
Good thing typhoon Ofel is not strong as the other typhoon who crossed our country in past few months. This is the 15th storm that came in the Philippines, and I am hoping no more strong typhoon will come again.

Hopefully :) As of now in Cebu though it is under signal no. 2 it is not raining and not that windy.
