Storm OFEL Update: October 25, 2012

"OFEL" has made landfall over the southwestern part of Masbate and over Sibuyan Island. as of PAGASA's Weather Bulletin Number TEN issued at 5:00 a.m., Thursday, 25 October 2012.

Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. Thursday weather bulletin that Ofel was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Pagasa said Ofel is expected to be at 270 km West of Metro Manila by Friday morning; at 600 km West of Iba, Zambales by Saturday morning.


Pag-asa warned residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal (PSWS) #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides likewise those living in coastal areas under signal #2 are alerted of possible storm surges.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 25 mm per hour (moderate - intense) within the 450 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboards of Luzon and Visayas due to the combined effect of Tropical Storm "OFEL" surge of Northeast Monsoon.

Jessica Sanchez will sing the American national anthem in Pacquiao-Bradley fight

This coming June 9, 2012 (June 10 in Philippines) the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley will happen in Las Vegas. Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) and Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs) are both boxing superstars in their own right. Bradley, the undefeated American World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion, will be challenging Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion. And during the fight the famous singer Jessica Sanchez, who is the first runner up in American Idol this season will be singing the United States National anthem. I know everyone is excited for this day, especially the Filipinos, expect a lesser crime, lesser traffic during this day.  We expect an exciting fight and Manny we hope you to win again!  Good luck pacman!

Super Big Crocodile in the Philippines

This is the image of the giant crocodile that was captured last Saturday in Bunawan township, Agusan del Sur Province. It was estimated to be 21-foot (6.4-meter) long and 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms). The crocodile killed a water buffalo last month and was suspected of having attacked a fisherman who were missing last July. It was captured by the villagers by setting a trap and about 100 people had to pull the crocodile from the creek to the clearing where it is lifted by a truck. It will be place into an ecotourism park in the southern Philippine town.
