Storm Signal Warning

Know the storm signals and know what to do.
Be always ready!

Public Storm Warning Signal # 1

- There is a tropical cyclone in the area.
- The wind is between 30-60 kph in atleast 36 hours or there is intermittent rain in 36 hours.
- Twigs and branches of small trees maybe broken.
- Classes in pre-school and kindergarten are automatically suspended in areas under Storm Signal No. 1.

Public Storm Warning Signal # 2

- There is a tropical cyclone in the area.
- The wind is greater than 60 kph and up to 100 kph in atleast 24 hours.
- Some coconut trees may be tilted with few others broken.
-  The winds may bring light to moderate damage to the exposed communities.
- Classes on pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and high school levels are also automatically suspended in areas under Storm Signal. 2

Public Storm Warning Signal # 3

- There is a tropical cyclone in the area.
- The wind is greater than 100 kph and up to 185 kph in atleast 18 hours.
- Many coconut trees may be broken or destroyed.
-  Moderate to heavy damage may be experience, particularly in the agricultural and industrial sectors.
- The sea and coastal waters will be very dangerous to all seacrafts.
- People are advised to seek shelter in strong buildings, evacuate low-lying areas and to stay away from the coasts and river banks.
- Classes and works are suspended in areas under Storm Signal. 3

Public Storm Warning Signal # 4

  - A very intense typhoon will affect the locality.
  -  Very strong winds of more than 185 kph may be expected in at least 12 hours.
  - Trees and plants may suffer extensive damage.    
   - Travel is very risky especially by sea and air.
  - Damage in the affected areas can be very heavy.  
  - People are advised to seek shelter in strong buildings, evacuate low-lying areas and to stay away from the coasts and river banks.
  - The situation is potentially very destructive to the community.
  - Classes and works are suspended in areas under Storm Signal. 4.

Jessica Sanchez will sing the American national anthem in Pacquiao-Bradley fight

This coming June 9, 2012 (June 10 in Philippines) the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley will happen in Las Vegas. Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) and Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs) are both boxing superstars in their own right. Bradley, the undefeated American World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion, will be challenging Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion. And during the fight the famous singer Jessica Sanchez, who is the first runner up in American Idol this season will be singing the United States National anthem. I know everyone is excited for this day, especially the Filipinos, expect a lesser crime, lesser traffic during this day.  We expect an exciting fight and Manny we hope you to win again!  Good luck pacman!

Super Big Crocodile in the Philippines

This is the image of the giant crocodile that was captured last Saturday in Bunawan township, Agusan del Sur Province. It was estimated to be 21-foot (6.4-meter) long and 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms). The crocodile killed a water buffalo last month and was suspected of having attacked a fisherman who were missing last July. It was captured by the villagers by setting a trap and about 100 people had to pull the crocodile from the creek to the clearing where it is lifted by a truck. It will be place into an ecotourism park in the southern Philippine town.
